Survey Taking Opportunities
Survey taking can be a great way to make some extra money in Chesapeake, VA. Paid surveys and discussion groups can get you the money that you need to either make ends meet or to afford some extra luxuries and they do not take up too much of your valuable time. Most part time jobs pay very little and require you to miss time with friends and family. Surveys on the other hand can often be done in your spare time and pay well, of you know what you are doing. When it comes to surveys, you can do either in person work or online work, although we suggest that you do both. Let’s look at in person survey work first as this is what most people are interested in at the beginning.
In Person Surveys
In person surveys are put together by local Chesapeake market research companies and are often referred to as focus groups or discussion panels. They are great because they pay very well and are fun to do in most cases. They allow you to see new products and services before they hit the market and you get to help shape their final appearance. There are two problems with in person work though. First, you must go to the market research firm at a set time to do the work. These times can often conflict with your regular job and family/friend time. In addition, this work is hard to do. Research firms often stick to their regulars or referrals from employees and other panelists. This can make it hard to break into the business. You never know though so it is worth trying to get this type of work. To do so, you need to get on “the list”. Call as many companies as you can and ask to get added to their list. Here are a few to get you going.

Now, lets look at online survey taking. Yes, you really can make money online, you just need to know how to go about it and you need to get a little experience. The benefit to working online is that you can start right away and you can do it whenever and wherever you want. This allows you to make money when you have time. Now online surveys do pay less but you can easily make up for this with volume. When you start out, you might do three or four surveys an hour but with a little experience you can up that number to five to ten an hour easily. This is when you can start making a good hourly wage. The trick is to learn to skim questions so that you get through surveys faster and to have a good list of survey websites. You should always be looking at new sites to add to your list and keep a bookmark file with all of your favorites.
